Head coach Papalii Tala Salamasina, alongside assistant coaches Emily Young and Theresa Asiata, began scouring for squad members last week.
The trial process began at Joseph S. Blatter Football Complex in Tuanaimato and was extended to include Savaii.
Salamasina will finalise the Samoa women’s national team selection in December.
The Pacific Games Women’s Football tournament is scheduled for 4-18 July next year in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The winner of the women’s football competition will advance to a home and away playoff with New Zealand’s Football Ferns to decide OFC’s representative at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Samoa’s last participation at this event was in 2007 when they exited at the first round despite a 2-0 win over New Caledonia and a tense 0-0 draw with Tonga.
Papua New Guinea have won three consecutive gold medals at the Pacific Games women’s football event since 2003.
New Zealand defeated Papua New Guinea in two playoffs for Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
