Vanuatu’s Erakor Golden Star FC have booked a spot in the 2017 OFC Champions League after defeating Ifira Black Bird 4-0 to win the Port Vila Football Association Top Four Super League Competition on Saturday.

A brace for Tony Kaltack and a goal each from Bernard Daniel and Jacky Ruben gave the side their historical win in a league that has been dominated by Amicale FC and Tafea FC for the past 15 years.

PVFA President Stephen Felix congratulated Erakor Golden Star FC for their success in the competition and wished the side luck for their OFC Champions League debut.

“On behalf of my new executive, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Erakor Golden Star FC for your outstanding performance in our competition,” he said.

“This year’s competition has been tough and you have proved yourself that you are truly the champions of Port Vila.

“Now that you qualify for OFC Champions League, I would like to congratulate the team management, coaches and the most important the players who played their hearts out to win the top four competition.

“Please start your preparation now towards OFC Champions League and I wish you all the best of luck in the OFC competition and make Port Vila Football proud.”
