After a gruelling 10-0 loss against 9th ranked Kazakhstan, the Solomon Islands futsal team have ended their 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup campaign.

The European side dominated the first half, taking the lead with goals from Alexandr Dovgan, Arnold Knaub, Douglas and Leo.

Hopes of a Solomon Islands comeback diminished after the break, as Pavel Taku, Ilya Mun, Nikolay Pengrin contributed to the Kazakhstan goal total.

Despite heading to a heavy defeat, the Kurukuru had chances to find the net themselves. Alvin Hou went closest with a powerful long-range shot that struck the far post in the second half.

The Kurukuru will return home proud of their efforts after taking on the 19th, 9th and 6th FIFA ranked national sides in a very challenging pool, securing goals against world class goal keepers, and proving worthy contenders in the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
