Labasa powered to the 2021 Women’s Inter-District Championship title last weekend with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Ba in the final.

Spurred on by another star showing from Cema Nasau – who would later be named the competition’s Golden Boot and Golden Ball winner, Labasa were too good for their opponents, after earlier edging out Rewa for a spot in the decider.

The competition had been postponed last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Prior to the final Labasa had recorded comfortable wins over Suva and Nadroga in the group stages, before getting past Rewa – whose keeper Seruwaia Vasuitoga won the Golden Glove Award – 3-2 in the semi-finals.

Eyes will now turn to the opening round of the Digicel Women’s Super League this weekend, with Labasa taking on Rewa, Tailevu Naitasiri taking on Nadroga FC and Suva facing Ba.
