Cook Islands domestic club Nikao Sokattak proved their skill this weekend, dominating Titikaveka in both the Cook Islands Premier Men’s competition and the Senior Women’s Competition.

The men were only up by one goal in the first half after a 30th minute goal from Samuel Koiatu, but they stepped up their game and completely dominated in the second half, scoring four more goals off attempts by Mark Leito and Julius David.

Titikaveka counter-attacked and challenged the Nikao Sokattak defence throughout the match but struggled to finish any attempt, ending the match 5-0.

The star of the Nikao Sokattak senior women’s team was striker June Punua, who outclassed the Titikaveka defence and scored both goals in their 2-0 win.

The Tupapa Maraerenga women’s team had a strong win as well, scoring five goals past Takuvaine and winning the match 5-0.

Tupapa Maraerenga men’s team were not as lucky against Takuvaine, with Luki Gosche and James Nand sending three attempts into the back of the net. Tupapa Maraerenga fought hard and Cook Islands international Campbell Best managed to slot in a late goal, but the whistle blew with a final score of 3-1.
