The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) have confirmed a bumper schedule for 2024.
The federation will host 17 competitions this year including three Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) events.
One of those is the OFC Women’s Champions League, with 2024 the second edition of the tournament – featuring six teams, including the tournament debut of a New Zealand representative.
Beach Soccer is back on the domestic calendar with SIFF introducing a Super League for club and provincial teams that gets underway in May.
It coincides with the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup in October, which the country is hosting for the first time.
Participation of women and girls is set to increase in the youth development competitions for SIFF, including the first Women’s Solomon Cup, National U-18 and U-16 Girls League, and the U-14 and U-16 Girls Championships, all aimed at clubs and schools.
Futsal, which will be an important fixture on OFC’s calendar in 2024, is also featured, with the Solomon Islands hosting the inaugural OFC Futsal Women’s Nations Cup.
The defending MSG Prime Minister’s Cup Champions have also confirmed they’ll be the host of this year’s annual Melanesian challenge in September.
To top it all off, the FIFA International window in March will see the Solomon Islands host Fiji, Tahiti and Pacific Games champions New Caledonia in the Four Nations Challenge.
