The Tiki Toa have suffered their second straight Group C defeat at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles, losing 6-3 to Senegal.

Following a 7-6 defeat to Chile in their opening match of the tournament, Teva Zaveroni’s side knew they needed a win over the African champions to boost their quarter final hopes.

Buit Tahiti who led 2-1 after the first period and 3-1 early in the second period, conceded five unanswered in a disappointing finish for the 2015 and 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup runner ups.

In terms of attempts on goal it was relatively even with Tahiti having 47 shots and Senegal 49. But the African side was more clinical.

Spain handed the Tiki Toa a lifeline, beating Chile 4-2, meaning Spain and Chile are level on three points with Senegal on six, already through to the quarter finals.

Tahiti will need a big win over the Spaniards and hope Senegal beat Chile, to sneak into the last eight.
