Tahiti national beach soccer goalkeeper Jonathan Torohia is chasing back-to-back glory after being nominated for Best Goalkeeper of the Year.

The Tiki Toa gloveman picked up the prestigous award in 2015 and although the national side has not been in as frequent action this year, Torohia remains one of the best in the business.

Torohia turned out for Catalan side Barcelona at the Mudialito de Clubes in Brazil last year when the club finished first in Rio.

And his dominant displays in the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup continue to live in the memory of many across the sport.

He will be in action again early next month when Tahiti once again turn out at the Beach Soccer Intercontintal Cup in Dubai.

The winners in each category, which includes Best Player and Best Coach, will be voted on by coaches and captains of national teams.

The award is due to be announced in Dubai at the Beach Soccer Stars Night during the Intercontinental Cup in November.

Torohia is up against Portugal’s Elinton Andrade and Vitalii Sydorenko of Ukraine.
