Solomon Warriors will be riding high ahead of their OFC Champions League Quarter Final against Auckland City FC next weekend after taking out the S-League Championship title with a 3-1 victory over Marist.

After initially being postponed due to weather, the final was played at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara on Thursday 29 March.

Moses Toata’s charges took a two goal lead in the first half with goals courtesy of Jerry Donga and Kensi Tangis.

Marist defender Michael Boso pulled one back for his side in the 46th minute but a goal to Gagame Feni sealed the victory for Solomon Warriors with his strike ten minutes later.

In the play-off for third place played a day earlier, Malaita Kings triumphed 2-0 over Kossa FC.

The two S-League Championship finalists will next be in action at the weekend when Marist take on Nalkutan FC at Korman Stadium in Port Vila on Saturday, and Solomon Warriors play Auckland City FC at Kiwitea Street on Sunday.
