McKendrick has spent time at all of the major players in New Zealand sport broadcasting from TVNZ to TV 3 and Sky Network Television, before becoming the director of her own production company.
During her tenure as executive producer for Sky Sport, McKendrick was involved in a large number of sporting events from the 2009 NZ Winter Games to the 2012 London Olympics. Her experience also extends to producing the 2012 World Rowing Championships, the 2011 IRB Awards, 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and Paralympics and the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
While there is a broad range of sports covered, McKendrick has also been heavily involved in football over the course of her career from producing during the FIFA U-17 World Cup and FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 1999 and 2008 respectively, and was a guest speaker at the conference held alongside the latter. She also served as a board member for former A-League representatives, the KINGZ Football Club.
OFC TV has worked on several projects with McKendrick which has given her an intimate knowledge of the organisation and has put her in prime position to oversee its growth.
“These are exciting times for OFC TV as we take on more external projects as well as look ahead to a full schedule of regional football,” McKendrick says.
“The OFC Champions League continues to grow every year, we have the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on the horizon and that includes the OFC Nations Cup which is another major event for us.”
McKendrick has big plans for OFC TV, which has gone through a number of personnel changes over the past two years, and expects her industry experience to play a key role.
“I have a broad and extensive background in market leading sports production and am excited by this new opportunity,” McKendrick says.
OFC General Secretary Tai Nicholas says OFC has had a professional relationship with McKendrick for some time, and is pleased to be further developing that.
“Over the years we have worked with and consulted with Tui on several different projects and she has always delivered exactly what we were after.
“We are really excited about her ideas for OFC TV and with her track record we are confident that she will deliver.”
