NOUMEA – AS Magenta celebrated the return of Pierre Wajoka to their ranks after dumping Wajoka’s former club – AS Lossi – by 4-2 at Stade Numa Daly at the
weekend.

Wajoka – who helped guide AS Lossi to promotion and the Coupe de Nouvelle Caledonienne last season after a 3-0 win over AS Mont Dore – completed the transfer just in time to
face his old club in the fourth round Super Ligue clash on Saturday.

AS Lossi’s ascent to the Super Ligue and Pierre Wajoka’s role as player/coach in that process will mean the New Caledonian national team skipper will have an emotional place in
Lossi history reserved for only a few.

What will hurt Lossi followers will be how Wajoka set aside sentimentality to secure a dream return to his first club AS Magenta last week after spending a week in a national
team training camp with coach Didier Chambaron.

Magenta’s 100% record in Super Ligue did not come without a price with Wajoka a marked-man, Lossi knowing only too well the qualities and technique of a player who has done
more than most to help put New Caledonian football on the map.

The match was also notable for the return of Marius Bako after a season long battle against a troublesome knee injury.

JS Baco defeated FC Gaitcha 4-0 in Super Ligue action

JS Baco kept in touch with Magenta with a 4-0 win over FC Gaitcha (above)whilst AS Mont Dore made sure AS Temala’s woes continued with a 3-1 win at Stade
Pomemie.

In the battle of the bottom two teams ACB Poya recorded their first victory of the season to lift spirits when they defeated AS Thio Sports 1-0 in a dour
struggle.

ACB Poya climb into seventh spot thanks to a goal from Yohan Draper after a stint with JS Baco. Poya create a three point gap between them and the vanquished Thio
Sports.
