The delegation, consisting of Rebecca Smith, Mat Harding, Jana Zimmermann, Monika Huser, Daniela Seltenhammer and Patrick Hainen and aided by OFC Head of Competitions Michael Song, will make recommendations to FIFA on what the Papua New Guinea Football Association and PNG Government need to do to host a successful tournament.
The delegates were split into two groups – one visiting all the hotels in Port Moresby, while the other visited the four stadiums and training facilities to assess the surface of the pitches.
The purpose of the visit was to get a first-hand impression of the facilities before making any recommendations.
The games venues that they visited were the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium, Sir John Guise Stadium, Lloyd Robson Oval and Bisini Parade.
The training venues visited were the Port Moresby International School, Port Moresby National High School, University of Papua New Guinea, Institute of Public Administration and Korobosea International School.
PNGFA president David Chung said the visiting team only inspected the facilities in Port Moresby, while the Local Organising Committee (LOC) will travel to Lae, Kokopo and Wewak to file photos and reports for further recommendations.
Chung said the LOC was expected to be formed soon to start work on preparations.
