HONIARA: The first ever FIFA MA Beach Soccer Referees course to be held in the Solomon Islands will involve around 30 referees after registrations closed this week.

Starting on Saturday, the course will be held at the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Academy. Of the 30 registered participants, three are women.

Refereeing Development Officer Massimo Raveino from Tahiti arrived in the Solomon Islands today and is looking forward to running the course. He will be assisted by FIFA Referee instructor Nehemiah Neil Poloso.

The course will cover the 17 Laws of the Game governing beach soccer and will run over the six days. It will be intensive and participants are expected to be well versed with the laws by the end of the programme.

A SIFF spokesperson said the course will be a huge benefit to local referees.

All participants are reminded to turn up early to register their names at 8:00am before the course starts at 9:00am.
