In the W-League, Football Ferns defenders Abby Erceg and Anna Green did their part in Adelaide’s 1-0 win over Perth by keeping a clean sheet in their side’s first win of the season.

All Whites fans in the Northern Hemisphere will be looking forward to the New Year when both Winston Reid and Ryan Nelsen could be back in action for Blackburn and West Ham respectively.

Finally, amidst post season activity in Major League Soccer, Andy Boyens has been snapped up by LA Galaxy in the MLS Re-entry Draft after cross-town rivals Chivas USA elected not to take the option on the All Whites defender’s contract. Boyens joins former New Zealand U-20 captain Dan Keat at the MLS champions.
