The match kicks off
1′ Both these sides have done well to get this far and will be determined to finish the job off by winning a medal
3′ Cook Islands have enjoyed most of the ball in the opening minutes
4′ It is the Solomons on the attack now though as they look to carve out the game’s first opening
4′ Mesalyn Saepio has a chip at goal from wide on the left but the shot does not trouble Cook Islands goalkeeper Marjorie Toru, who has offered a very safe pair of hands at this tournament
5′ Dayna Napa, another of the Cooks’ best performers, sets off down the right but miscontrols and the ball is bundled out for a corner
5′ Captain Mama Henry swings the corner over and it reaches the head of Napa but she can’t direct her effort on target
9′ Ileem Pegi runs onto a dangerous bouncing through ball but Cook Islands centre back Tekura Tutai shows good awareness to come across and deal with the situation
12′ Defender Audrey Galo gets forward for Solomon Islands and hits a speculative left-foot shot from distance but it goes straight into the arms of Toru
14′ Veronica Tolivaka sprints after a Pegi pass down the right for the Solomons but Toru comes out to gather
15′ Prudence Fula shows good skill just inside the Cook Islands box but her shot is blocked
16′ Both sides have been showing plenty of attacking intent but have not managed to create any clear-cut chances
20′ The Solomons are having the better of the game and most of the recent play has been in the Cook Islands half
21′ Napa does brilliantly to evade a couple of challenges on the break for Cook Islands but the attack fizzles out after her pass to Elizabeth Harmon on the left
22′ Napa has the best chance of the game when she charges down the left and cuts in inside the box to shoot but Solomons keeper Betty Sade makes a brave save and Napa can’t force in the rebound
28′ SUBSTITUTION: Harmon is replaced by Regina Mustonen for Cook Islands
29′ Napa gets into a good position on the right after a Cooks breakaway but swings wildly at the ball and the shot sails well wide
31′ Cook Islands captain Mama Henry whips in a near post corner which Sade struggles with under pressure but she manages to get hold of the ball at the second attempt
35′ Saepio breaks down the left after some neat build-up play by the Solomons but loses possession before she can cross to a team mate
38′ Veronica Tolivaka is caught offside for Solomon Islands
41′ Henry puts in Napa on the right with a lovely pass but the attack comes to nothing
43′ Time is running out now for either side to break the deadlock before halftime

46′ Henry swings in a corner for Cook Islands which results in a shot at the far post for Mustonen but she slices her left-foot volley across the face of goal
48′ Henry shimmies away from a challenge 20 yards out to create room for a shot but it is blocked by the Solomons defence
49′ Kim Tare finds Mustonen on the left side of the box but her shot does not have much power and Sade makes a simple save
51′ Tare breaks down the right and has a shot from the edge of the box but it rolls out for a goal kick at the near post
52′ Cook Islands have begun this half with plenty of energy and have dominated the opening minutes
53′ Solomons striker Pegi has a great chance to open the scoring when she runs onto a through ball and goes one-on-one with Toru but the ball is bouncing and she can’t get her lob on target
54′ Napa continues to look Cook Islands best chance of finding a goal and she wins a corner after another powerful run
55′ Mustonen’s corner goes out on the other side for another corner which Henry takes this time. The ball falls to Mustonen on the edge of the box but her left-foot strike goes wide
59′ Solomons player Betty Maenu’u crosses for Saepio but her half-volley takes a deflection and goes out for a corner
60′ SUBSITUTION: Prudence Fula is replaced by Ella Misibini for Solomon Islands
60′ The Solomons can’t create a chance from the corner but are still on the attack
62′ Cook Islands soak up the pressure and get forward themselves when Napa shows great pace to beat a pair of Solomons defenders to the ball but her shot goes straight to Sade at the near post
63′ YELLOW CARD: Kim Tare is cautioned for Cook Islands

67′ The Solomons go agonisingly close to scoring when Ella Misibini toes the ball under the advancing Toru but the Cooks somehow scramble back to clear the ball from the goal line

73′ The onus is now on Solomon Islands to find a goal of their own but it is Cook Islands dominating the play
