The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Congress will take place in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea from 16-19th January 2007. The OFC Congress is the bi-annual meeting of all OFC member associations with representatives of each member association in attendance where elections will be held to determine composition of the OFC Executive Committee. OFC President Reynald Temarii will stand unopposed for the office of president.

In attendance will be FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and a FIFA delegation including General Secretary Urs Linsi. At the conclusion of the OFC Congress and OFC EXCO meeting, a press conference will be held at the Airways Hotel at 11.00am on Thursday 18th January, 2007.*

The OFC event will also include the opening ceremony of an OFC funded mini-pitch initiative at Kila Kila Secondary school.

This will be followed by a visit of the Moresby South Learning and Development Centre at Koki Market settlement. This Centre focuses on providing informal learning opportunities focussing on early childhood care and income generating opportunities for young people. The Centre has been piloting the newly endorsed government policy focusing on an integrated community approach to social development through sports such as football.

OFC President Temarii and OFC General Secretary Tai Nicholas accompanied by other OFC delegates will also visit Bougainville and Kimbe with Dame Carol Kidu, as well as delegates of FIFA and the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA).

During this trip the delegation will meet the local authorities in Bougainville and Kimbe, and will attend the ground breaking ceremony of the FIFA Goal Project (regional football centre) in Kimbe.

The Papua New Guinea Government will host both OFC and FIFA delegations at a welcome dinner at Parliament House scheduled for the 17th January.
