KOLOALE TO FACE BRISBANE WOLVES

HONIARA – Koloale FC’s DJ Graphics Premier Division campaign and 2009 O-League preparations will get a massive boost after the arrival of Australian club Brisbane Wolves in the Solomon Islands today.

The postponement of the latest round of DJ Graphics Premier Division matches to accommodate the visit of Australian club Brisbane Wolves will ensure Solomon Islands 2009 O-League representatives will get two international club matches against top quality opposition ahead of their first O-League Group B fixture against Ba on 1 November 2008 in Fiji.

The first friendly with Brisbane Wolves is scheduled for Wednesday 24 September with the second and final match pencilled in for Saturday 27 September.

Both matches will kick-off at Lawson Tama Stadium at 16h00 local time.

Brisbane Wolves compete in the Brisbane Premier League and were formed in 1921 and based in Wynnum at Carmichael Park Stadium.

Premier League rivals include former National Soccer League club Brisbane Strikers.

Wolves finished 5th in the Brisbane Premier League Division winning ten matches, drawing four and losing eight.

Koloale FC currently sit in 7th place in the DJ Graphics Premier Division and their last match yeilded a narrow 3-2 win over Zome Mars.

Star striker, Ezra Sale, will lead the Koloale FC charge at the national stadium. Sale is on loan from rivals Makuru FC and is joint second in the DJ Graphics Premier Division Golden Shoe Award behind Alick Maemae.

Brisbane Wolves will play Solomon Islands national team at Lawson Tama Stadium on Thursday 25 September in what promises to be an exceptionally busy week for the visiting Australians.

Fans will purchase tickets for the match at rates similar to previous Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) events with $20 for grandstand seats, $10 for adult (standing) and $5 for children.
