Coach Frank Farina made ten changes to his starting line-up, only retaining defender Praneel Naidu from the side which went down 1-0 to the Myanmar U-20 in their opening match of their Asian Tour.
The side, which is building up for their first ever appearance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year, appeared physically superior to their older opponents and held their own over the 90 minutes.
Goalkeeper Shaneel Naidu was one of the outstanding performers of the evening with some great saves to deny Myanmar the advantage.
Fiji have the opportunity to implement what they’ve learned over the past two friendlies when they play a rematch against the Myanmar U-20, who have also qualified for their first FIFA tournament, on 21 February.
Following that match the contingent will continue their tour in Malaysia with several matches lined-up against the U-20 and U-22 national teams.
