All Whites coach Ricki Herbert has made three personnel changes and re-jigged New Zealand’s formation for Thursday’s match against Venezuela in Maracaibo.

David Mulligan and Andy Barron have been called into a midfield three while Chris James has been rewarded for his instant impact off the bench in Sunday’s 4-0 loss to Costa Rica with a place on the left in a front three.

Out go defender Che Bunce, midfielder Tim Brown and striker Jeremy Brockie as well as the back-three formation Herbert experimented with in San Jose.

Bunce, Brown and Brockie drop to a bench that includes former Team Wellington goalkeeper James Bannatyne who was rushed to Maracaibo after Glen Moss suffered a tour-ending elbow injury on the eve of the Costa Rica match.
