Lautoka and Nadi cruised to wins in the Super Six playoffs of the New World National League in Fiji while Tavua and Nasinu suffered defeats in the Bottom Four.

Former Wairarapa United rep Petero Dauniseka marked his return to Fijian league, but couldn’t prevent his Suva side going down 4-2 on the weekend.

Dauniseka, a former Olympian and national rep, is back with the Whites after a few seasons in Wellington, and showed glimpses of his class, but didn’t get the desired support from his team mates.

Lautoka scored the first goal when Suva goalkeeper Johnson Lobo brought down Simeli Naresia inside the box.

Jone Vono Junior hammered the ball to Lobo’s left for Lautoka to lead 1-0. Misunderstanding in the Suva defense allowed Samuela Junior to sneak in a hard right-footer which hit the left post and deflected into the net.

Then minutes before halftime, Dauniseka used his experience to curl in a free-kick from 25 meters to beat Lautoka keeper Laisenia Tuba and pull a goal back.

Lautoka’s third goal was scored when Samueal Junior  unleashed a thunderous shot which Suva keeper Lobo could not stop.

Lautoka’s fourth goal was scored by Vono Junior after a Lautoka player was brought down inside the box by Leone Damudamu.

Replacement Suva player Ratu Isei Navono managed to beat Tuba with a high shot to bring scores to 4-2 .

In another Super Six match Nadi beat Rewa 2-1, with Shameem Ali and Thomas Robert getting the goals.Alvin Prasad got the goal for Rewa.

In the Bottom Four, Navua taught Tavyua a lesson with a 12-0 drubbing, while Nadroga beat Nasinu 2-0, with a brace from Navu Tawake.
