He believes plenty of concentration will be needed because Tafea will be keen to avenge the 4-2 loss they suffered to Amical in pool play last week.
Leong is looking for big performances from key players Fenedy Masauvakalo and Jack Wetney to make sure Amical do not slip up in their quest to lift the cup.
“I trust Fenedy as the captain but all the players must stay focused,” he says.
“The final with the former champions Tafea has come at the right time – we will be using the game as a preparation for our O-League campaign. Tafea is a big test for us because they have a lot of experience and we will use this opportunity to test all our players.”
Amical will be without the services of veteran striker Batram Suri, who has left the country to return to his native Solomon Islands due to a knee injury.
But all is not lost as Amical have already recruited another Solomon star in the form of Gibson Daudau from the Solomon Warriors.
The line up is likely to bring Masauvakalo and Wetney, also a Solomon Islander, together up front while Daudau will probably join his new team mates Stanley Waita, Dereck Malas and Robert Yelou in the midfield. Nelson Sale and Richard Anisua will form part of the defensive line in front of first-choice goalkeeper Ernest Bong.
Tafea have yet to give any indication of their possible line-up but have revenge in their sights after the earlier pool game loss.
They play an attacking style of football and their most potent weapon is striker Francois Sakama.
He has actually been training with Amical in recent weeks and there have been talks regarding a transfer. But he pulled on a Tafea shirt last weekend and scored a crucial goal in the side’s 2-1 semi-final victory over Spirit 08.
Coach Robert Calvo is expected to employ a 4-4-1-1 formation, leaving Sakama as the sole striker. But Calvo has defied expectations in the past and could opt for a more threatening shape boasting five forwards.
The TVL Cup final kicks off at 3pm on Saturday at Port Vila Stadium.
