Solomon Islands kept it’s XIII South Pacific Games semi-final hopes alive with a handy 3-0 win over bottom-placed American Samoa at Toleafoa J.S.Blatter Football Field in Apia, Samoa,

beyond the on-rushing Filiga Kerisiano to make it 1-0.

Margaret Daudau had Solomon Islands in celebration mode after 39 minutes when her cross-come-shot cleared Kerisiano and dropped under the crossbar making it 2-0.

Diane Justus rounded off the scoring in the 58th minute when a Brenda Masae freekick flew through a crowded penalty area past Kerisiano to the feet of Justus her completed an easy finish from
close range.

For American Samoa the defeat completed a respectable first up performance in women’s international football despite three defeats and a 1-1 with Cook Islands. Solomon Islands will need a
result against high-flying Fiji and hope Cook Islands can cause an upset against wounded giants Papua New Guinea.
