Stade Numa Daly in the New Caledonia capital of Noumea is set to play host to the two international friendlies between the rival nations, which are being held on the 17 and 20 May.
While the encounters will be the perfect opportunity for both teams to test their squads and assess their opponents, there is an additional charitable element to the matches being organised by the Fédération Calédonienne de Football.
The FCF is showing support for its “Vanuatu brothers” by directing all the gate takings from these two games back to Vanuatu to aid the Cyclone Pam recovery effort.
The New Caledonia football community has already shown its desire to assist the recovery, with 2015 Fiji Airways OFC Champions League semi-finalists FC Gaitcha gifting the takings from one of its Super Ligue pre-Champions League matches to sister club Tafea FC – a donation of over NZ$4,000.
New Caledonia U-23 coaches Thierry Sardo and Pierre Wajoka will announce their list of 23 players this week.
