Fijian champions Ba will host Kossa FC in a do-or- die final round encounter in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) O-league when the two sides clash at Govind Park on Saturday afternoon.

The winner of the match will finish top of O-League Group B and will qualify for the home and away final against the top finisher in Group A for a chance to compete at the FIFA Club World Cup – Japan 2008, in December.

Kossa currently sits two points ahead of Ba and knows that a draw will be good enough to propel them into their first O-League final in the clubs history.

Ba was thrown an O-League lifeline on Wednesday when Tafea FC and Kossa FC drew their match at Port Vila Municipal stadium in Vanuatu. A win to either side would have put first place out of reach for Ba but the stalemate has given them a chance to regain their spot in the O-League final.

Kossa will be looking to Papua New Guinea International Reginald Davani to lead the attack after missing the match against Tafea through suspension.  Davani will create a formidable attacking force with Solomon Island international James Naka, the goal scorer from Wednesdays match.

Ba will be hoping to draw inspiration from an anticipated large crowd and will be hoping to overturn the 2-0 defeat they suffered in Honiara against Kossa when the two sides last met in February.

Ba will also be motivated to finish with more points than AS Manu Ura in Group A who currently sit on one point with one game in hand.

The teams that finish bottom in Group A and Group B could lose its OFC O-League status depending upon its final playing record this season.

The winner of the OFC O-League Preliminary tournament will take the place of the bottom club with the worst playing record.

Tafea FC of Vanuatu replaced AS Mont Dore of New Caledonia for this season’s OFC O-League.
