The Cook Islands Football Association (CIFA) put on a show in the sand at their second CISNOC Beach Games in Nikao earlier this month.

The three-day event was initiated by the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee and saw various beach sports codes participate.

CIFA entered six teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions and the matches were played in a round-robin competition format.

In the men’s grade, Black Wolves were crowned winners while Onetox finished off second and Spice Guys in third.

Spice Queenz won the women’s grade followed by Ladies in Black and Viber.

CIFA Competitions Manager Pauline Dean said it was an exciting and competitive event.

“We had new teams participate this year alongside teams from last year which was good to see,” Dean said.

“Since it’s our second year entering beach soccer most players were familiar with the basic rules of the game and playing on sand, which made it fun for all.

“It was also competitive as strong teams asserted their dominance early on day one, while other teams found their form on day two.”
