The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ intercontinental play-off draw held on Saturday morning NZT has determined who the Oceania Football Confederation representative will face for a spot at football’s flagship global event.

The pairings to be decided as a single leg are:

AFC Team v CONMEBOL Team

Concacaf Team v OFC Team

With the aim of continuing to test operations ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022, FIFA has confirmed Qatar as the neutral venue for the intercontinental play-off matches, which will be played at one of the tournament venues featuring the country’s innovative cooling system on 13 and 14 June 2022.

The play-offs were originally scheduled to take place in March 2022 but were rescheduled to June 2022 as a result of the unprecedented disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to the scheduling of FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers globally.

Four years ago, Australia and Peru secured passage to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ via the intercontinental play-offs with wins over Honduras and New Zealand respectively.
