Having made his debut for New Zealand during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers over four years ago, Andrew Durante has gone on to become a staple of the New Zealand defence.

Today he makes his return to the Honiara and is keen to once again get the job done and qualify for November’s Intercontinental Play-off against COMNEBOL’s fifth-ranked side.

“It’s been four years from now since making my international debut here wining 2-0 which was tough playing in front of Solomon’s vocal crowd but we are here to finish off the job we started last Friday,” Durante said.

The All Whites and Wellington Phoenix defender was ecstatic about his side’s victory in the first-leg and is now looking forward to another clinical performance.

“We feel happy about the win last Friday – we are here to back it up again.

“Since arriving yesterday we’ve tested our players and implemented our game plan to good effect and that is a good sign.

“However we know it will be a bigger challenge than Friday but I think we should take the momentum of the first-leg with us,” he said.
