New Caledonia’s India-bound U-17 squad are off for their next two week preparation camp, this time in Australia.

The side spent the previous school holiday period in Auckland, New Zealand, and are now taking advantage of the proximity to the AFC Member Association to experience something different again.

Dominique Wacalie will take his team to the Gold Coast where they will stay at the Sports Super Centre and combine intesive training sessions with four matches against different Australian teams.

First up New Caledonia take on the Western Pride U-18 on 8 August. They then have two matches against the Brisbane Roar U-17 Academy side on the 11 and 15 August before they take on an U-17/U-18 Sunshine Coast Selection on 18 August.

Unfortunately for the squad they will be without Cyril Nyipie while in Australia, as the midfielder is returning to Rennes for a second trial with Stade Rennais.

However Wacalie is confident the Australian experience will be a good one for his side as the continue to prepare for a World Cup where France, Honduras and Japan await.
