The quarter-finalists of Tahiti’s Coupe de Polynésie are confirmed, a cup draw in Fiji and New Caledonia’s Super Ligue continues in this week’s Oceania competitions wrap.

This weekend saw the second round of the Coupe de Polynésie take place in Tahiti with the current top three in Ligue 1 Vini all progressing.

Current league leaders AS Dragon advanced with a comfortable 8-1 victory over AS Tiare Anani. Meanwhile, AS Venus and AS Pirae won impressively, 5-0 and 4-1 against AS Samine and AS Tefana respectively. AS Pueu also enjoyed a big win, with Raimana Tetuanui and Mauna Teikituhaahaa scoring four goals apiece in an 11-0 triumph over AS Vaiete.

However, there was a surprise as Coupe de Marquises winners AS Jeunesse Marquisienne defeated Ligue 1’s fifth-placed side AS Central 3-1.

Elsewhere, AS Taiarapu FC came out on top of a tight affair, winning 2-1 against AS Papenoo. Other close fixtures saw AS Tamarii Punaruu beat AS Tamarii Tapuhute 3-2 and AS Mira edge a 2-1 result over AS Tiare Hinano.

The draw for the quarter-finals has now taken place with AS Venus v AS Pirae the pick of the ties. AS Taiarapu FC v AS Mira, AS Dragon v AS Tamarii Punaruu and AS Jeunesse Marquisienne v AS Pueu are the ties that round out the last eight, with fixtures set for the weekend of June 9-12.

In Fiji’s Digicel Premier League, Lautoka FC continued to play catch-up with two games this week. They played out a 2-2 draw with Nadi FC, with Solomon Islands striker William Komasi scoring his first goal for Nadi, before a brace from Bula Boys star Sairusi Nalaubu secured a 2-1 win over Labasa FC. The results move Lautoka up to fourth.

The draw for the Digicel Fiji Football Association Cup Tournament (FACT) also took place this week. Nadi, Lautoka, Rewa FC, Navua FC and Labasa FC are in Group A while Ba FC, Nadroga FC, Suva FC, Tailevu Naitasiri FC and Nasinu FC make up Group B, with games to be played on May 22 at ANZ Stadium in Suva and May 26-29 and June 4-5 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The Digicel Women’s Super League continues this weekend with league leaders Ba FC taking on Suva FC whilst Nadroga FC face Tailevu Naitasiri FC and Rewa FC facing Labasa FC.

Tiga Sport continued their perfect start in New Caledonia’s Super Ligue, winning their fourth game. Jean Jacques Bearune and Lues Waya both scored twice in a 6-2 victory against AS Kunié.

SC Ne Drehu and Hienghène Sport continue to keep up the pursuit, with 4-2 and 1-0 wins against JS Baco and AS Mont-Dore respectively.

AS Lössi also secured victory, beating AS Magenta 1-0 whilst Dumbéa FC won 2-0 over Horizon Patho. Meanwhile, AS Wetr and Qanono Sport shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
