Semi-finalists in 2025, Ba Women FC return to the OFC Women’s Champions League hoping to build on last year’s deep run into the latter stages of the competition in Honiara.

They’ve been drawn alongside the same team who beat them in the semi-finals, Hekari Women FC, host club Henderson Eels FC, and Tafea Women FC from Vanuatu, in Group A of OFC Women’s Champions League 2026.

“We come in with a mixture of players, but definitely a better squad than last year,” says Ba Women FC head coach Charlene Lockington.

Lockington guided Ba to the last four in 2025, and is preparing for her second OFC Women’s Champions League campaign as coach. Whilst navigating Group A will be difficult, she firmly believes her squad have the tools to go even further in 2026.

History

Ba Women FC are competing in the OFC Women’s Champions League for the second time and the second successive year. In 2025 they topped Group A with two wins from two, before suffering a 6-1 defeat to Hekari Women FC in the semi-finals.

Labasa are the only other club to have repesented Fiji at the OFC Women’s Champions League, and were semi-finalists in 2024, meaning a Fijiian club has reached the last four in each of the last two editions.

Squad

Nine of Lockington’s squad have only recently returned from international duty with the Fiji Kulas, who lost both of their matches against Hong Kong. Among them are Asela Cokanisiga, Sereana Naweni, Narieta Leba, Elesi Tabunase, and Koleta Likuculacula.

Whilst the squad has spent a month apart in the lead-up to the OFC Women’s Champions League, the core group of nine internationals are at least familiar with each other, some of whom also took part in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Oceania Qualifiers for Fiji.

Koleta Likuculacula

The 25-year old forward was one of the stars of Ba Women FC’s run to the semi-finals last year, scoring three of her side’s six goals during the course of the tournament.

Likuculacula scored a brace against Tupapa Maraerenga, and added another against Henderson Eels during the group stage.

She’s an experienced international player for both the Kulas and the Fijian women’s national futsal team.
