Off the field she’s reserved and quiet. On it, she’s determined and fierce.

Meet New Caledonia’s Jackie Pahoa, who hopes her experience will pull her side through to the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship 2019 final.

Pahoa made her international debut for New Caledonia at the OFC U-17 Women’s Championship in Rarotonga in 2016 at the age of 15, playing a key role in all five of their matches and scoring four goals.

Fast forward three years she is back on the island doing exactly what she loves best and it’s not hard to see the passion Pahoa has for football.

“Now I am very happy to be with the under 19, I can have more experience, and hope to keep going,” she said.

“I would like to be a professional player and play in the FIFA World Cup. We trained hard for this competition and I hope to keep going to the final.”

Pahoa and her side were the first team to book a semi-final spot and are set to play the runner-up of Group B.
