September saw the conclusion of Samoa’s FFS Upolu National Premier League Men’s and Women’s divisions with the championships in both decided by the narrowest of margins.
The Women’s Premier division was won by just one solitary point, with Kiwi FC edging out nearest rivals Faatoia United FC by 25 points to 24.
Kiwi ended the season unbeaten, dropping points just the once in a 2-2 draw with Lotopa SC on matchday two. However, Kiwi’s 2-1 victory over their nearest rivals on match day seven in August proved crucial to claiming top spot.

The Men’s Premier division also came right down to the wire with the top two sides, Vaivase-Tai FC and Vaipuna SC both finishing the season undefeated.
However, Vaivase-Tai claimed the silverware by two points, having drawn two games compared to Vaipuna’s three.
Going into the final game of the season in mid-September, free-scoring Vaipuna held the advantage, sitting atop the table on goal difference with both teams on 26 points apiece. However, a draw with fourth-placed Kiwi allowed Vaivase-Tai in to claim the league title by edging past Faatoia United 1-0.
