Tahiti have finished their Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup campaign with a 4-3 defeat to Russia in the playoff for third this morning.
In a repeat of last year’s final, Naea Bennet gave the Tiki Toa an early lead but Russia stormed back with four unanswered goals to lead 4-1 heading into the final few minutes.
Goals from Jo and Heiarii Tavanae gave Tahiti a brief flicker of hope but they ultimately eft their run too late.
Brazil claimed the title with a 6-2 win over Iran in the final.
