Hosts Vanuatu have opened their FIFA International Friendly Tri-Nations series with a 2-0 win over their Pacific rivals Tahiti at Port Vila’s Korman Stadium on Tuesday night.

The openeing goal came courtesy of Jeffery Bob’s finish from a corner in 22nd minute before Tony Kaltack made it 2-0 for the hosts from another corner in the 70th minute.

Vanuatu, Tahiti and Fiji are using the series as preparations for the upcomimg Pacific Games in Samoa and as the matches are sanctiond by FIFA they will also count towards the teams’ rankings.

Tahiti will next face Fiji on (Friday) 7 June before the final match of the Tri-Nations series between Vanuatu and Fiji on (Monday) 1o June.
