The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) hosted an extensive webinar highlighting the recently launched FIFA Guide to Club Licensing in Women’s Football on Thursday this week. 

FIFA’s Professional Football and Women’s Football Department Advisor Andres Portabella presented the informative session, with the event made available to OFC’s 11 Member Associations and two Associate Members, as well other interested participants, via the OFC Learn online platform. 

“Working together with OFC is an absolute pleasure for me,” Portabella said . 

“Webinars like this one are so important for the football industry to share ideas and knowledge.” 

The new specific club licensing guide for women’s football was launched by FIFA in April as a means of providing Member Associations with the simplified steps necessary to establish and maintain a successful club licensing system. 

Portabella is hopeful the new guide can have a significant impact across the OFC’s members. 

“To have the opportunity to present our latest guide at FIFA to all Member Associations in Oceania was fantastic,” he said. 

“I hope this tool can assist everyone who is looking to set up and implement club licensing in women’s football.” 

As evidenced by the excitement surrounding the upcoming OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2022 in Fiji and the continued establishment of premier women’s football competitions across the region, including those recently developed in the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea, women’s football is continuing to grow across the region and remains one of OFC’s core focus points. 

Accelerating the growth of women’s football is also a pillar of FIFA’s The Vision 2020-23, overlapping with OFC’s ALL IN: OFC Women’s Football Strategy 2027, which aims to increase the development, growth, sustainability and professionalisation of women’s football in Oceania. 

Club licensing is just one tool which can be utilised toward achieving those aims. Giving Member Association’s across Oceania the opportunity to engage with a FIFA advisor on the topic is seen as a major boost. 

“Through the ALL IN Strategy, OFC are aiming to increase the strength and sustainability of women’s football and have committed to improving standards and access to club football for female players across Oceania,” said OFC Women’s Football Manager Emma Evans. 

“Club licensing will play a key role in achieving this, and we are excited to provide OFC Member Associations the opportunity to engage with Andres Portabella, a global expert in club licensing, to ensure we are moving in the right direction.” 

As a follow-up workshop, OFC will once again be hosting the popular OFC Introduction to Club Management Online on Wednesday, June 8 from 5pm–7pm NZT. 

This is delivered through OFC Learn and is available in both English and French. This workshop is ideal for club managers, administrators and those interested in developing their club on and off the field.

L’Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) a organisé cette semaine un webinaire complet présentant le Guide de la FIFA sur l’octroi de licence aux clubs pour le football féminin, publié récemment.

Cette séance hautement informative a été présentée par le conseiller du département du football professionnel et du football féminin de la FIFA, Andres Portabella, le jeudi 2 juin.

L’événement était ouvert aux 11 associations membres, aux deux membres associés de l’OFC, ainsi qu’à d’autres participants intéressés, via la plateforme en ligne OFC Learn.

“C’est un réel plaisir de travailler avec l’OFC “, a déclaré Andres Portabella.

“Des webinaires comme celui-ci sont très importants pour le secteur du football pour partager des idées et des connaissances.”

Le nouveau guide sur l’octroi de licence de clubs pour le football féminin a été lancé par la FIFA en avril afin de fournir aux AM un aperçu des étapes nécessaires pour établir et maintenir un système de licence de club efficace.

Portabella espère que le nouveau guide aura un impact significatif sur les membres de l’OFC.

“Avoir l’opportunité de présenter notre dernier guide de la FIFA à toutes les associations membres d’Océanie est fantastique”, a-t-il déclaré.

“J’espère que cet outil pourra aider tous ceux qui cherchent à mettre en place et à appliquer un système de licence de club dans le football féminin.”

Comme en témoigne l’engouement autour de la prochaine Coupe féminine des Nations de l’OFC 2022 à Fidji et la mise en place régulière de compétitions de football féminin de premier plan dans la région, et notamment les compétitions récemment développées dans les Îles Salomon et en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée, le football féminin continue de se développer dans la région et reste l’un des principaux objectifs de l’OFC.

Accélérer la croissance du football féminin est également un pilier de la Vision 2020-23 de la FIFA, et ce pilier fait échos à la stratégie pour le football féminin de l’OFC « ALL IN: OFC Women’s Football Strategy 2027 », qui vise le développement, la croissance, la durabilité et la professionnalisation du football féminin en Océanie.

Ce système de licence de club est un outil qui peut être utilisé pour atteindre ces objectifs. Donner aux AM de toute l’Océanie l’opportunité de collaborer avec un conseiller de la FIFA sur ce sujet représente une impulsion majeure.

“Grâce à la stratégie ALL IN, l’OFC vise à accroître la force et la durabilité du football féminin et s’engage à améliorer le niveau et l’accès au football de club pour les joueuses à travers l’Océanie “, a déclaré Emma Evans, responsable du football féminin à l’OFC.

“Le système de licence de club jouera un rôle clé dans la réalisation de cet objectif, et nous sommes ravis d’offrir aux AM de l’OFC la possibilité de collaborer avec Andres Portabella, un expert mondial en matière de licence de club, afin de travailler dans la bonne direction.”

Dans le cadre d’un atelier de suivi, l’OFC organisera une nouvelle séance pour le très populaire cours en ligne d’introduction à la gestion des clubs de l’OFC le mercredi 8 juin de 17h00 à 19h00 (heure de Nouvelle-Zélande).

Cette formation est dispensée par OFC Learn et est disponible en anglais et en français. Cet atelier est idéal pour les responsables de club, les administrateurs et les personnes intéressées par le développement de leur club tant sur le terrain qu’en dehors.
