The latest additions to the squad are three Serbian players – Nicola Vasilic, Marko Dordevic and Milan Matic, who arrived in Vanuatu last Monday.
Vice-president of the club Andrew Leong says it is an opportunity not only for the arriving players, but also for the club, as it looks to advance to the final of the 2014 edition.
“It’s very important for the three players and other foreigners to throw their hearts behind traveling to Vanuatu to play for our club,” Leong says.
“These players have got it all and ability-wise they are very good players in their own country.
“But it’s a fabulous opportunity for them to play in Vanuatu and the important thing is that they need to settle down quickly and start training hard and playing alongside our local boys.
“Amicale has always been in my heart for the past three years and I’m sure this season will be a successful one for the players if they all work hard enough.”
Leong says he hopes to see the new additions to the squad slot into the line-up as fast as possible as the Champions League is going to be a different level of competition compared to what they will encounter during their preparations in Vanuatu.
“I am now looking forward to the next exciting competition in Fiji and to be honest the competition will be strong.”
Amicale have been drawn in Group B alongside Tahiti champions Dragon, Fiji runners-up Nadi and defending champions Auckland City.
The OFC Champions League Group Stages will be held in Fiji from 7-15 February.
