Over 20 clubs were represented at the season’s closing meeting with VFF technical director Peter Takaro and Port Vila Football administrator Bong Shem also present.
“We have faced a lot of challenges this season,” Philip told the gathered group.
“We have only one futsal court in town and we have had over 150 matches and it’s very hard to organise matches when we have volleyball, boxing, judo and other sports using the same court,” he says.
“My executive members found it very hard to programme matches.
“I thank you for your patience and support throughout this season and next season I am sure we will have good matches because we can now use Wan Smol Futsal court at Tagabe, Port Vila for the 2014-15 season.”
Philip says it was great to have the continuous support of both Port Vila Football and the Vanuatu Football Federation and he hopes to see that relationship continue into the next season.
“Lastly, on behalf of my executive, I would like to ask all clubs, referees and players to work together in unity next season to build up futsal in Port Vila.”
The Port Vila Futsal League is run under the Port Vila Football Association with 36 clubs.
The first meeting for all the futsal club presidents will take place on September 1 2014 ahead of the new season’s launch.
