Led by OFC Technical Director and FIFA Technical Development Officer Patrick Jacquemet the team discussed their plans and programmes for the coming year, as well as finalised their technical resources.
“The entire department, including our consultants, are in Auckland and it’s an opportunity we had to seize as our various schedules rarely line-up,” Jacquemet says.
“It’s been a fruitful few days for us as we can each discuss our plans for the year and get feedback on new programmes and ideas we’ve had based on our 2013 activities.”
Auckland-based staff included Women’s Football and Grassroots Development Officer Nicola Demaine, Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Officer Paul Toohey and administrator Dylan Choi as well as Jacquemet.
Joining them was OFC’s New Caledonia-based Head of Education Didier Chambaron, OFC Coach Mentor Simon Toselli and OFC consultants Giovani Fernandes, James Bannatyne and FIFA fitness instructor Mark Hester.
Also under discussion during the four days was how the department interacts with other departments within the OFC structure, including media, competitions and social responsibility, and the ways in which they can continue to improve those relationships.
“We had some really positive discussions and can continue to build on our mutually-beneficial relationships with other departments, and outside stakeholders based on that feedback,” Jacquemet says.
The OFC Technical Department Workshop was held at OFC Academy from 28-31 January 2013 in Auckland, New Zealand.
