KOLOALE, MAKURU, MARIST LEAD DJ LEAGUE CHARGE

Koloale have set a blistering pace to the Solomon Islands DJ League competition leaving a trail of clubs in their wake including the countries two
most recent participants in the OFC O-League, Marist FC and Kossa FC.

Koloale sit on top of the competition with 12 points, two clear of unbeaten Makuru, who face Vanuatu’s champions Tafea FC in a friendly match at Lawson Tama Stadium this
afternoon. Deposed Solomon Islands club champions – Marist FC – sit in third place with three wins and a defeat from their four matches, their disappointing showing in the National Clubs
Championship earlier this year still fresh in the mind of fans.

Solomon Islands O-League representatives, Kossa FC, meanwhile, have been busy in the transfer market as they seek to deliver a convincing O-League performance in 2007/08
season with Joe Luwi and James Naka crossing over from Marist FC prior to the National Clubs Championship.

Gideon Omokirio and Samson Takayama provide the rock upon which Kossa will build their twin campaigns at home and abroad. Both players will be chasing O-League glory
after experiencing a disappointing XIII South Pacific Games – Samoa 2007/2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Qualifying series with the national team.

Kossa FC along with the Bilikiki Boys beach soccer national team provide the brightest light in what has been a disappointing past few months for Solomon Islands
football. Involvement in the 2008 O-League and FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup – Rio de Janeiro 2007 are viewed as massive opportunities for Solomon Islands to rebuild its reputation on the
pitch.

Walas, Rangers and Naha sit in the bottom three places of the DJ League, yet to register a single point.
