TAHITI – FIFA World Cup winner Christian Karembeu has committed himself to promoting football in Oceania since retiring as a player in 2005. Karembeu was joined by France’98
team-mate Lionel Charbonnier at the Radisson Hotel in Tahiti to talk about the prospect of the 1998 world champions reconvening in Oceania in six months time for two charity matches in Tahiti and
New Caledonia scheduled for May 2008.

Charbonnier – whose career was ended by a persistent knee injury – is now the technical director with Federation Tahitienne de Football and is equally excited by plans for the France
team to play a match at Stade Pater next year.
