The course gathered 20 participants at the Fédération Calédonienne de Football headquarters with the objective of creating and planning of training sessions based on the tactical side of the game.
The course included the detailed programming of training sessions and focussed on developing more structure and organisation reflected in the modern game.
‘’If New Caledonia football wants to reach a step further in the coming years, the coaches need to work differently in the planning of the training sessions and in the work done with the players,’’ Didier Chambaron says.
The five-day course taught participants about the organisation of training sessions with theory and practical sessions.
The planning of the training sessions remain a key element in the team and players’ preparation.
‘’The most important part of the coaching job it is what is happening during training. The coach needs to make sure his squad is mentally and physically well-conditioned for the competition,’’ Chambaron says.
The former New Caledonia coach highlights that the essential part of the work has to be done during the week before the game.
‘’Most of the work has to be done in the training sessions prior to game day. The coach has to elaborate his game plan during the week.
‘’During game day, the coach can change few things but the major part of the job has already been done beforehand.’’
