Etaeta was invited by the French federation to be involved in the seminar, which runs from today until Thursday. He will work with a group of 28 other technical directors from French regional leagues and overseas territories on the content of the course, which will deal with a range of technical coaching material.
His visit to France is a ground-breaking event as it is the first time a technical director from FTF has been invited to this kind of seminar and highlights the increasing relationship between FTF and the French federation.
The FTF technical department is working hard to provide courses and certificates within the nation and has created 16-hour courses related to football in several islands. The seminar in Châteauroux is an opportunity for Etaeta to share his experiences of running these courses with the other technical directors in attendance.
The knowledge gained at the seminar will also add value to the FTF project ‘CAP 2015’, an eight-year development plan which began in 2007.
Etaeta will not have to wait long to put what he has learned into practice either. As coach of the national team, he will be on the sidelines for Tahiti’s two friendly matches against traditional rivals New Caledonia on April 3 and 6.
The Tahiti squad is preparing for the Pacific Games, which will take place in Noumea, New Caledonia during August and September.
