The French-born Huc moved to Tahiti in 1995 and worked as an underwater cameraman for five years before joining Tahiti Nui Television Network (TNTV) where he became Head of Sports.

Over the past 10 years he has gained a wealth of experience in areas such as video editing, production, presenting, media relations and strategy.

As a qualified FIFA Communications Instructor, Huc has facilitated training courses in the Oceania region and around the world. He has also worked as a FIFA Media Officer at various FIFA tournaments including the previous two FIFA World Cup Finals in Germany and South Africa.

OFC General Tai Nicholas says he has come to know the high caliber of Huc’s work over recent years.

“Olivier has previously been employed by OFC in an advisory role, including the training of our Member Association Media Officers in the area of television filming and editing,” says Nicholas.

“After creating ‘Fenua-Foot’ in Tahiti, he has helped replicate the magazine-style football show in Oceania countries such as Tonga, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. We are delighted to have him onboard – now in a full-time role – to further strengthen our television and radio strategy.”

In his new position at OFC, Huc will be responsible for leading the television and radio initiatives, focusing particularly on building local capacity within MAs.

He will work closely with Head of Media and Communications Priscilla Duncan and newly appointed consultant Richard Broadbridge from Fiji’s Mai Group which owns Mai TV and Mai Life magazine.

Huc says he is looking forward to joining the OFC team.

“I appreciate the challenge that this job will present,” says Huc. “I look forward to sharing my expertise but also recognise that this will be an opportunity for me to learn from others. Most of all, I look forward to working with the various cultures that make up this unique and diverse Oceania region.”
