While he had always hoped for a dream debut that would end with a goal and a win for his club it wasn’t to be, but he’s happy to finally see some on-field action.
“When the coach called me in the 67th minute and I went out on the field, I was definitely thinking of my family and friends,” Lolohea says.
“But above all I had it in my mind to help my teammates to win the match, and I also wanted to score.”
The latest loss has done nothing to help the club’s causes as it remains in the relegation zone – in 18th position, four points behind Nimes who are outside the relegation zone.

While many thought the Lifou-native should have taken advantage of the transfer window to find a club where he would be assured of more game time, Lolohea chose to stick it out with Lavel.
“I had a meeting with the coach in January and he told me I needed to wake up and be as effective in training as I was with the reserves,” he says.
“I realised that I needed to do more and I didn’t give up, quite the contrary.”
In recent weeks Lolohea has developed into a prolific scorer with the reserves forcing first team coach Philippe Hinschberger and his staff to reconsider the
Caledonian, so much so that he was even tipped for a start against Istres.
“It is true that I was a little disappointed when I saw the match and I discovered that I was a substitute,” he says.
“But I was sure that this time I would have my chance.”
