Auckland City FC have completed their preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Asian champions Al Ain in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Oceania champions will take confidence from the performance against the UAE champions who had beaten them 6-2 at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup qualifier in Abu Dhabi last September.

The Navy Blues now fly to Chattanooga, Tennessee to their base camp where they will prepare for their opening Group C fixture against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Monday morning at 4am NZT at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati.
