The Group stage is complete at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States with Manchester City producing a statement performance to take into the knockout rounds.

Juventus v Manchester City

Manchester City became the only team at the tournament to win three from three in Group play with a emphastic 5-2 win over Italian powerhouse Juventus in the Group G decider. Goals from Doku, Haaland (marking his 300th career goal), Foden and Savinho highlighted City’s clinical attacking display. Manchester City will face Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the round of 16 in Orlando while Juventus prepare for a clash against Real Madrid.

Wydad AC v Al Ain FC

In sweltering conditions in Washington, UAE side Al Ain came from behind to defeat Moroccan side Wydad 2-1 in the final Group G match. Goals from Laba and Kaku secured a hard-fought victory – with Kaku’s composed strike in the second half sealing the win for his side. The match wraps up both teams’ campaigns on a competitive note.

Al Hilal v CF Pachuca

Al Hilal edged past CF Pachuca 2-0 in a tightly contested Group H match, sending them through to the Round of 16 as runners-up, ahead of Austria’s Salzburg. Despite Pachuca’s resilient defence and several late chances, their opponents held firm to secure a crucial victory. Al Hilal will face English giants Manchester City for a place in the quarter finals.

FC Salzburg v Real Madrid

Real Madrid proved too strong for Salzburg with goals from Viniscius Junior and Federico Valverde just before half-time putting the Spaniards in control. Gonzalo Garcia sealed the three points late on, setting up a mouthwatering encounter with Juventus in the round of 16.
