Day two of the FIFA Club World Cup delivered a goal-scoring spree as the tournament continues across the United States.

The day’s action began in Cincinnati, where Oceania champions Auckland City FC were outclassed by German giants Bayern Munich in a commanding 10-0 win. The Aucklanders were overwhelmed by their opponents’ relentless pressure, with Jamal Musiala netting a second-half hat-trick in just 18 minutes. Despite showing some promise, Auckland were no match for Bayern at full throttle.

In Los Angeles, California, European champions Paris Saint-Germain cruised past Atlético de Madrid with a convincing 4-0 victory. PSG asserted their dominance in pursuit of a fourth major trophy this season, scoring through Fabián Ruiz, Vitinha, Senny Mayulu, and a stoppage-time penalty by Lee Kang-in.

On the East Coast, New York played host to Brazilian club Palmeiras and Portugal’s FC Porto, who battled to a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Despite dominating play, Palmeiras were repeatedly denied by Porto’s stand-in goalkeeper Cláudio Ramos, whose string of crucial saves preserved the stalemate.

In the day’s final match, South American champions Botafogo survived a second-half fightback from seattle, winning 2-1. Botafogo took control early, with Jair Cunha opening the scoring in the 29th minute before Igor Jesus doubled the lead just before halftime. A late fight back from Seattle saw Cristian Roldan net a goal in the 75th minute, but the Brazillian side overcame the late push from the Americans securing the win.

Looking ahead, tomorrow’s fixtures feature Chelsea vs LAFC, CA Boca Juniors vs SL Benfica, and CR Flamengo vs Espérance de Tunis.
