Laws of the Game

The new Laws of the Game came into force on Friday 1 June 2018, ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ commencing in Russia in two weeks.

A number of Law changes were approved at this year’s Annual General Meeting of the IFAB which was held on 3 March 2018, including the most important amendments regulating the use of Video Assistant Referees (VARs), as well as the VAR protocol. A summary of all changes can be found here.
