The stage is set for the FIFA Club World Cup final after European champions Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-0 thrashing over Real Madrid, setting up an exciting final against Chelsea.

The Parisians now set their eyes on another piece of silverware in a year that has seen them collect three major trophies (Ligue 1, Coupe de France and UEFA Champions League).

This match proved their hunger to win, as Fabián Ruiz set the tone early scoring inside six minutes after a costly error from Madrid’s backline.

Just moments later, Ousmane Dembélé pounced on another defensive lapse to double PSG’s lead, leaving Real rattled. Ruiz added his second in the 24th minute to cap off a devastating first-half display from Luis Enrique’s men.

PSG dominated possession and showed relentless intensity, exposing Madrid’s reshuffled defence, which was missing key names like Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Spanish giants looked out of sync, unable to cope with PSG’s pressing and fluidity.

A late goal from Gonçalo Ramos sealed a night to forget for Xabi Alonso’s side, who failed to register a shot on target until well into the second half.

For PSG, it was a statement performance clinical, controlled, and ruthless. They now face Chelsea in the final with momentum firmly on their side.

Real Madrid’s exit also sees their veteran midfielder Luka Modrić play his final game for the club after 13 years. Modrić was given a huge ovation at MetLife Stadium, marking the end of an illustrious career with the club for the Croatian.
