We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Media and Communications Officer to support the delivery of high-quality media services across OFC tournaments and events, including the upcoming OFC Professional League in January 2026.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, this is an exciting opportunity to shape how football is experienced, seen, and shared across Oceania and the globe.
About The Role
This role’s key priority is enhancing the visibility of OFC’s Social Responsibility work, with a secondary focus on promoting football activities across competitions, development programs, and community-based initiatives.
The position requires someone with strong storytelling, media relations, and digital content capabilities, who can contribute across a wide variety of OFC projects to promote the values and impact of football in the Oceania region.
Working with a small team on media operations which includes, but is not limited to, the development and implementation of the football development communication strategy, information and content production and dissemination, management of facilities, personnel and services as well as logistical support.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop the communications and media strategy and operational plan specifically for social responsibility aligned with overall Communications’ long-term strategy
- Support the implementation of communications strategies aligned with OFC’s long-term engagement and visibility goals.
- Collaborate with Digital and Social Media teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
- Assist with the creation, editing and dissemination of multimedia content (written, photo, video) for oceaniafootball.com and other OFC platforms.
- Provide input and implement the Communication Plans for social responsibility activities and other areas within OFC.
- Production of advocacy and communications resources to support the dissemination of critical messages using existing Social Responsibility content and materials
- Development of a Social Responsibility Media and Communications guideline for Mas aligned with the OFC’s overall Communications Strategy
- Help develop and maintain campaign materials and advocacy content that reflect OFC’s values around inclusion, equality, health, and community wellbeing.
- Develop a sound working relationship with key stakeholders in the media landscape regarding media operations and accreditation
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with member nations and media officers

About You
You are a confident, calm, and highly organised media professional with experience delivering media services at sports events. You thrive in fast-paced environments and know how to create a high-performance experience for media personnel under pressure. You will be successful in this role if you have:
· At least 3 years’ experience in media operations, sport event delivery, or press coordination
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, French is an asset
· Strong marketing skills and understanding of social media
· Proven experience outputting and editing news copy efficiently and to a high standard.
· Good understanding of the digital environment and growth sectors for the future.
· Knowledge of media landscape and communication outlets including social media, TV, internet, radio, and written press.
· Basic videography skills are an asset as is proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
· Demonstrated experience managing accreditation, press areas, and mixed zones
· Strong leadership skills with experience managing staff, contractors, or volunteers
· High proficiency in Microsoft Office and media operations tools
· A clear understanding of international media expectations and workflows
· Cultural awareness, especially across the Pacific region
· A relevant qualification in communications, media, or a related field (desirable)
· Flexibility to travel internationally and work irregular hours during events
· Eligibility to work in New Zealand or overseas
· Ability to pass criminal record and credit checks
· A good understanding of media in the pacific
